The Hoppin’ John Orchestra is a great local band here in Philadelphia. The sound is mostly New Orleans and brass band based with a heavy sample of old jazz transcriptions and some very heady original compositions. They’ve been kind enough to let me hold down the 2nd saxophone chair for many years. In return, I’ve been trying to provide them with whatever graphic design and marketing services I can. For years I was updating a clunky old flat site built with HTML and tables. I know, it was wrong, but the site was old, and I didn’t have time to do it right.
I currently have the site on a Flavors.me server as a stop-gap while I design and build a fully featured site in WordPress. My first swipe at the look and feel are starting to shape up nicely. Now I just need to find time to put it all together.
