Mitch Woods is a long time piano player and performer whose jump blues sound rooted in New Orleans, early rock and roll, R&B, and boogie-woogie has earned him a strong following around the world.

As he began to take the music to places far removed from its American roots, Mitch needed artwork to represent himself, his band, and the music. These are a few initial sketches of a logo for Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88s. While the music is rooted in sounds of the 40s and 50s, Mitch didn’t quite want an exclusively retro look. So, our early sketches try to indicate the period as well as show the enduring energy found in this music.
