These are book cover designs for a new title for Temple Press. The publisher supplied some wonderful images which made the design process go very smoothly. In two of the designs, I just wanted to leave as much room for the image as I could while still effectively displaying the title.

The image of the woman kneeling at the head of an engraving in the ground was the most haunting of the two. I didn’t see a need to disrupt the mystery of the ceremony. However, in at least one of the sketches, I wanted to create some theater with the typography by integrating the figure into the title. I was very happy when the publisher made that their selection… with no changes!
